Volleyball Blanks Northwood

MELBOURNE, Fla. (September 1) – The Panthers continued their winning streak tonight defeating the Northwood Seahawks 3-0.

Leading the way for Tech was Mayne Pegorari with 13 kills, Marcela Vasconcelos with 41 assists and Frankie
Brown
with four service aces.

From the Seahawks, Kelly Bruce recorded three service aces while Vivian Perez had 17 kills and Anna Andersen added four blocks.

The Panthers won game one 30-22 posting 17 team kills for a .244 attacking percentage. This left the Seahawks with very few attack options as their
percentage for the game was .095. Tech took an early lead in game two and was nearly flawless at the service line. Northwood fought back from a 10-point
deficit to bring the score to 16-20, but Tech pulled away and took the game 30-23. Sacha Gumbs pounded five of her seven kills during the
third game leading the Panthers to a season high of 21 team kills in a set. Tech sealed the win with a score of 30-23. This is the sixth consecutive win
for Panther Volleyball.

Tech will hit the road next week to face Flagler on Wednesday and compete in the AASU/Chatham Orthopedic Volleyball Classic in Savannah, Ga. that weekend.
