International Space University Presents French Artist/Designer on Adding Art to STEM July 4
MELBOURNE, FLA.—French designer and photographer Remy Bourganel will deliver a free lecture at Florida Institute of Technology on Wednesday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. His talk, which will introduce “A” for Art into STEM studies to create “STEAM,” is in conjunction with International Space University. The ISU opened its 25th Space Studies Program (ISU/SSP12) at the university and Kennedy Space Center on June 4; it runs through Aug. 3.
Bourganel is director and head of user experience and creative director for the technology company, Orange Vallée, a subsidiary of Orange. He is also founder and co-director of the research laboratory, Mobile Digital Identity, at ENSAD, the Higher School of Visual Arts and Design in Paris. Also a jazz guitarist, Bourganel lives in Paris and London.
Bourganel’s lecture will be in the F.W. Olin Engineering Building, Room 118. He will address the STEM/ISU participants of Florida Tech University Professor Guy Boy and will be available after his presentation to answer questions.
Approximately 130 post-graduate university participants from 31 countries are attending the two-month 2012 ISU/SSP to learn about all aspects of space programs and enterprises.

Also open to the public is TEDxISU, or TED Talks, on July 6, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Florida Tech Gleason Performing Arts Center.
