Tech Women Tied for 11th After Round One of Fall Slam
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Women’s Golf) – After the first of two rounds at the Flagler Fall Slam, Florida
Tech’s women’s golf team sits in a three-way tie for 11th on the par 72 course with 352 strokes. Battling the wind and rain throughout the day,
Natalie Kohler leads the way for the Panthers, shooting a 78 on day one to sit in eighth place overall. Nova Southeastern shot a
collective 319 to lead the field after the first round with Daytona Beach Community College and Lynn tied for second, just two strokes behind.
Weather conditions put a few kinks in the Panthers’ game plan Monday as the team found itself struggling a bit on the back nine. However, Daniela
Iacobelli managed to pull out an 85, while Stacey O’Hara finished with an 87. Rounding out the team score was Ashley
Chastain with 102 strokes on the day.
Depending on the weather conditions Tuesday, play is expected to resume with the second and final round at The Slammer and Squire Course at the World Golf
Village.
