Associate Dean to Address Conference

The School of Management’s associate dean Barbara Pierce, Ph.D., CPA, will be presenting a paper titled “A Reasoned Approach to Using Distance Learning in
an Undergraduate Accounting Course” at the annual conference of the American Academy of Accounting and Finance in New Orleans on December 10. Dr. Pierce,
president-elect of the Florida Institute of CPAs, teaches managerial and financial accounting, auditing, intermediate and advanced accounting and
principles of accounting. Her research interests focus on the financial market’s reaction and the use of accounting information and gender effect. Dr.
Pierce’s research has been published in Advances in Accounting and Journal of Financial Statement Analysis.
