Florida Tech STEM Summer Academy for High School Students Coming June 22-26

Unforgettable Week with Expert-Led Learning, Field Trips, Lunch at the Dining Hall and More

MELBOURNE, FLA. —Registration is now open for Florida Tech’s STEM Summer Academy for high school students, a weeklong , hands-on tour of artificial intelligence, drones and aviation, osteopathic medicine and additional disciplines held June 22-26 on and around the university’s Melbourne campus.

Guided by Florida Tech faculty members, graduate students and medical professionals who are shaping the future of STEM fields, the five-day academy will take learning beyond textbooks and theory as participants tackle practical challenges and develop technical skills relevant to future academic and professional pursuits.

Other areas addressed during the academy include marine science, engineering design, animal behavior and cognition, meteorology, forensic psychology and aviation autonomy. Field trips will take participants to the university’s Mertens Marine Center, the Brevard Zoo and Burrell College of Health Sciences School of Osteopathic Medicine for hands-on activities and real-world experiences.

Throughout the program, students will have opportunities to gain valuable insights into college life and various career pathways.

The Academy is held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Lunch at the university’s award-winning Panther Dining Hall, supplies and field trips and transportation are included in the $1,500 program fee.
