Florida Tech Consultants Offer Businesses Outside Look In

– A fresh, unbiased look at a company’s organizational and human relations issues can be a boon to a business. The Center for Professional Services at
Florida Tech offers this external view to solve corporate problems and create a positive, more effective work environment.

Part of the university’s School of Psychology, the center has helped commercial and nonprofit businesses
and organizations in Brevard and nearby counties for six years. Doctoral-degreed industrial/organizational psychologists manage the center to add value to
organizations. The center offers traditional management consulting services and provides advanced graduate students as an economical alternative for
completing projects.

The center conducts applied organizational research to answer questions, solve problems and increase productivity. Help is available in recruiting
qualified applicants, conducting job analyses, designing and validating hiring tests, developing training programs in such areas as leadership,
communication skills, project management, stress management, and more. There is also support in developing, analyzing and interpreting a variety of
organizational metrics, including organizational surveys, exit interviews and performance appraisal programs.

“We employ the principals of industrial/organizational psychology to make the workplace more effective, efficient and productive through the people who
work there,” said Dr. Lisa Steelman, center director and Florida Tech associate professor of psychology. For more information about the center, contact
Steelman at (321) 674-7316, or at lsteelma@fit.edu.
