Florida Tech Offers New Degree, in International Business

A newly approved degree program, a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, is available to incoming students beginning fall 2006. Supporting the
program are seven new courses designed to provide students with the global skills necessary for success in the borderless business world of the 21st
century.

The new courses, to be taken in addition to core courses, are: Cross-Cultural Management; Global Macroeconomic Issues; International Trade; Global
Accounting and Tax; Global Financial Management; Business in the Western Hemisphere; and an International Business Practicum/Internship.

Other courses required for the new degree include Global Business Perspectives, Communication in the Global Economy, International Marketing and an
elective in Global Humanities. Additionally, students must take two semesters of a foreign language and a “Study Abroad” experience during the summer
following their junior year. Student also will have the option of undertaking an international business practicum internship overseas the summer following

The College of Business has had many “firsts” since it was founded in 1967. These include the first high school ethics
competition in the nation, before business ethics became a subject of national debate, and the first business college to offer an Executive M.B.A. in the
state of Florida.
