Florida Tech Online Programs Among Nation’s Best

2014 List from TheBestSchools.org Based on Academic Excellence, Faculty

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s online programs earned the university the No. 14 ranking among the nation’s best online colleges for 2014, according to TheBestSchools.org, an independent organization that studies and quantifies academic excellence in higher education.

Ranked among Penn State, Boston University, Northeastern University and other leading institutions, Florida Tech’s online programs mirror the rich academic offerings found in the school’s Melbourne campus and 10 extended studies locations around the country.

Offering a variety of degrees in aviation, business, computer information systems, criminal justice, information assurance, psychology/liberal arts and more, Florida Tech’s online programs reflect the best of the criteria TheBestSchools.org brought to bear in developing its rankings. Criteria included academic excellence, scholarly quality of faculty, online teaching methods, cost, reputation, awards and financial aid and number of degree programs.

“We include traditional campus-based schools only if they provide an extensive and well-rounded offering of online degree programs,” the organization noted.

In a separate study, TheBestSchools.org ranked Florida Tech’s online associate degree in criminal justice No. 2 on its list of the 20 best programs nationwide.
