Florida Tech Virtual Center Faculty Member Listed Among Top 25 Women Professors in Maryland

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Mary Beth Klinger, Ph.D., was recently named among the “Top 25 Women Professors in Maryland.” At Florida Institute of Technology’s Virtual Extended Studies site, based in Patuxent River, Md., she teaches management information systems, applied project management and knowledge management to graduate students.

Since 1998, Klinger has also been a professor of business at College of Southern Maryland. She teaches business, economics, management, organizational behavior and leadership, entrepreneurship and small business development, e-business, marketing, international business and business statistics/math.

She earned a doctoral degree in organization and management from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minn.; a master of business administration degree from San Francisco State University; a master’s degree in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Ariz., and bachelor’s degrees in psychology and economics from Hood College in Frederick, Md.

In another honor, Klinger is currently a finalist in a faculty competition, which is part of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs Annual Conference, to be held June 21-24 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Also this year, she earned a Teaching Excellence Award, U.S. region 2, Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. Among many honors, she also has received several awards from the College of Southern Maryland, including a 2012 Faculty Excellence Award, a 2001 President’s Award and a 2000 Innovator Award.
