Men’s Soccer Handed Tough Loss 1-0

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (men’s soccer) – Florida Tech Panthers suffered a tough 1-0 loss against the NAIA Northwood University Seahawks after riding a 3 and
1 record over a two week stretch.

The lone goal of the match came around the 38th minute as the Panthers were found defending a quick counter by the Seahawks which led to the Seahawks
Jonathan Taylor (Durham, England) finding Joonas Siikala (Lohja, Finland) on a cross; where Siikala volleyed to score the essential game winning goal.

The Panthers had numerous chances to tie the game throughout but couldn’t connect on any of the opportunities. Freshman Ross Allen (Castel, Guernsey,
United Kingdom) lead the Panthers with four shots while Temidayo Apena (Lagos, Nigeria) recorded three shots. Overall, the Panthers combined
for nine shots with only three shots on goal.
 
Goal keeper Cory Collins (Melbourne, Fla.) suffered the loss for the game and now has an overall record of 3-5-1.

With the loss the Panthers move to 4-6-1 overall and next host St. Leo University for Senior Day on Saturday, October, 7th at 4 pm at Rick Stottler Field.
