Panthers Volleyball Losses to #2 Ranked Spartans

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech battled against #2 Tampa University on their home court this evening losing in the three games; the game scores were 30-18,
30-16, and 33-31.

Tech, battling on their home court against the Spartans looked rattled as Tampa took games one and two easily.

Game three showed a different attitude by the Panthers as they came out of the break playing with pride. Tech went down early by four points but dug in
defensively and rallied back to take the lead by four points; 16-12 halfway through game three. Tech continued to keep the advantage heading towards the
end looking like they would steal a game away from the Spartans leading 29-28. Unfortunately for Tech, the Spartans showed why they are 2nd in the nation
and rallied back taking game three 33-31 ending the match.

On the night the Panthers constant efforts were led defensively by freshman libero Melissa Reinders (Orlando, Fla.) with a team high 19 digs while junior
setter Amanda Boyce (Madison, WI) had 14 digs. Boyce recorded a double-double setting her teammates with 20 assists on the night.

Offensively, senior outside hitter Megan Konopnicki (Plano, TX) led with nine kills, while teammates Frankie Brown (Panama City, Fla.) added eight kills
and Jenny McCoy (Titusville, Fla.) recorded six kills for the crimson and grey.

The Panthers are now 2-25 overall and 0-12 in the Sunshine State Conference and next host Nova Southeastern on Friday, October 27th at 7 pm in the Clemente
Center.
