Volleyball to Open Season in Augusta

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2007) – The Florida Tech volleyball team travels to Augusta, Ga., this week to compete in the Augusta State
Jaguar Classic. These will be the first matches of the season for the Panthers and head coach Qi Wang.

‘This will be a good way to test them for preseason,” said Wang. “It’s time for us to finish the introduction and start the first chapter.”

Florida Tech has a full schedule this weekend with contests against Augusta State, Limestone College, Clark Atlanta, and USC Aiken. On Friday the Panthers
play the host Jaguars at 2 p.m. and face Limestone College in the nightcap at 6 p.m. Tournament play for Florida Tech will conclude on Saturday after the
10 a.m. match against Clark Atlanta and the noon match-up versus USC Aiken.

Tech last faced Augusta State in the 2006 Azalea Classic and fell three 3-0, but rebounded to defeat Coker College in the same tournament by a score of
3-0. The Panthers faced USC Aiken in the 2006 Chatham Orthopedic Volleyball Classic and also lost 3-0. This weekend will mark the first meeting between
Florida Tech and Limestone College.

The Panthers’ first home contest is Monday, August 27, at 7 p.m. against Dowling College in the Clemente Center.
