Apply now for the 2020 Netherlands Study Abroad

Study Abroad Netherlands and much more!

The Study Abroad Communication and Culture program based in the Netherlands is so much more than just one country. You’ll visit Iceland, Belgium and Germany, experiencing different cultures and earning COM credit!

Study Abroad students in Iceland
Netherlands Study Abroad students visit multiple countries, including Iceland on their two week tour.

Spend four weeks on campus taking one or both study abroad classes and two weeks abroad, taking what you’ve learned in the classroom and experiencing it through these different cultures. The Summer 2020 classes are offered for both graduate and undergraduate students and are open to all students, regardless of major:

COM 3085/5252 Seminar in Marketing Communication

Learn about the importance of marketing messages and images for international audiences. The course introduces students to the theory and practice of effective marketing communication campaigns in cultural contexts.

COM 3085/5420 Sports, Media, and Society

Learn about the relationships between the sports industry, athletes, media, and audience. Explore sports and media in different global contexts and channels – from traditional news media (newspapers, magazines, books, radio, TV) to social media (online, forums, blogs, and microblogs). Develop literacy and critical-thinking skills with emphasis on the global nature of sport.
