MELBOURNE, FLA.—The community is invited to attend as Florida Institute of Technology’s Evans Library celebrates 50 years as a Federal Depository Library Nov. 22, 3-5 p.m.
Since 1963, Evans Library has served the Florida Tech community and the citizens of Florida’s 8th Congressional District by providing and promoting access to the wealth of valuable information that the federal government publishes for the benefit of the American public.
“This is a role we have taken seriously and look forward to performing for many years to come,” said Robert Sippel, Florida Tech government information/ data librarian.
Former U.S. Congressman Dave Weldon, who now serves on the Florida Tech faculty, will make some remarks in honor of the occasion at the reception. In addition, Florida Tech faculty and members of the community will discuss government information resources that they use in the course of performing their work.
