Florida Tech Faculty Announces New Software Testing Journal

– Dr. Cem Kaner, Florida Tech professor of computer science, announces the founding of the Journal of the Association
for Software Testing. Journal editor, Kaner, notes that the editorial board is now fully staffed with “a very prestigious group of editors, with members
from every continent, including Bob Glass, Shari Lawrence Pfleeger, Yves Ledru and James Bach.”

The AST just sent out a call for papers the theory, practice and teaching of software testing. “The JAST is one of the new generation of scientific
journals that publish on the Web with free access to the public. We welcome papers from scholars and from practitioners in the field. We will also consider
proposals for special issues organized by a guest editor,” said Kaner. The tentative deadline for articles for the first issue is Sept. 1, 2005. Send

The mission of the recently formed, nonprofit service organization, AST, is to advance the understanding and practice of software testing. The AST serves a
community of scholars, students and software development practitioners by providing forums for discussion of all aspects of software testing through
conferences, publications, Web sites and other services.
