Grant Proposals Workshop Planned for Florida Tech’s NSF Day March 9

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Today’s environment is highly competitive for National Science Foundation (NSF) grant proposals and the first step to getting funded is a good application. To help in this pursuit, Florida Institute of Technology and the National Science Foundation will sponsor a free, March 9 workshop for faculty members at universities located within Central Florida.

Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and a welcome presentation starts at 8 a.m. Florida Congressman Bill Posey will offer brief welcoming remarks at 8:20 a.m. The workshop, to be held in the Gleason Performing Arts Center on the Florida Tech campus, will end at approximately 4:15 p.m.

The workshop will provide an introduction and overview of the National Science Foundation, its proposal and merit review process, international programs and programs that cut across a wide range of functions. Presentations will be offered on the programs of each NSF directorate, which include Mathematical and Physical Sciences; Biological Sciences; Computer and Information Science and Engineering; Education and Human Resources; Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences Engineering; and Geosciences.

There will be time available to chat with NSF program managers.
