Six-week program for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors provides chemistry, calculus, physics and algebra courses.

Inclusion is based on academic citations, co-authorships and, for the career-long list, composite metrics that gauge impact over that time.

They can discuss hurricanes, flooding, weather damage, erosion, transportation and evacuation issues, cybersecurity and more.

The agenda includes a live rendition of “I Have a Dream” and the presentation of the Dr. Julius Montgomery Pioneer Award and Dr. Harvey L. Riley Bridge Builder Award.

The three-story building on Olin Quad will offer more than 61,000 square feet of space, including 22,300 square feet for labs and classrooms.

The university was also in the Top 175 nationwide for undergraduate engineering programs and undergraduate computer science programs.

The survey, commissioned by the Naval Warrior Foundation, is for the most elite members of the U.S. military, such as Navy SEALs and Army Rangers.

Participating students will live in off-campus housing near Florida Tech and have access to the same services that full-time Florida Tech students receive.
