Florida Tech Recognized as Good School for Veterans

Military Times magazine recognized Florida Tech as a top school for military veterans in its 2024 Best for Vets: Colleges ranking.

Florida Tech offers the Panther Battalion Army ROTC program on its main campus in addition to a variety of fully online degree programs, which have long been a top choice for servicemembers. The university also offers a military history minor.

Among veterans’ services offered, Florida Tech provides counseling on Department of Defense/Veterans Administration benefits and financial aid, military-related service projects and more.

Florida Tech was solid across the board, ranking 44th among Southeastern schools and 45th among private, not-for-profit schools. Among schools offering both face-to-face and online classes, Florida Tech was 67th.

Consistently named a Military Friendly® School, Florida Tech is proud to be recognized for its ongoing “commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefit for the military community,” the school noted in its Military Times profile.

In the annual Military Times report, 304 schools were ranked after completing a survey that measured student success metrics, military-specific resources and financial assistance offered by each school. Admissions and registration policies and human resources, along with public data from the Department of Education and Department of Veterans Affairs, were also considered in the magazine’s ranking.

“For over a decade, Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges has helped veterans make informed choices about their educational futures, showcasing institutions dedicated to supporting their unique needs,” the magazine reported.

Florida Tech counts 46 military generals among its alumni, including Ann Dunwoody, the first woman in U.S history to achieve a four-star officer rank. In April, the university was recognized as a Military Friendly® School for 2024-25, published in G.I. Jobs magazine’s spring edition.
