Florida Tech’s team #87 and The Melbourne Regional Chamber # 5 are primarily being sponsored by the Space Coast Office of Tourism. The Space Coast Office of Tourism’s mission is to help build awareness of Florida’s beautiful Space Coast around the globe. The Space Coast extends 72 miles from famous Cape Canaveral, home to the Kennedy Space Center, all the way down to scenic Sebastian Inlet, home to world class surfing and fishing.

Here is just a sampling of what the Space Coast is all about

Surf, Sun and Sand
The Space Coast is the longest and most accessible beach in Florida, so it’s no wonder how it quickly became the east coast surfing capital.

Space, the final frontier.
Home to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Space Coast visitors and residents have prime viewing of the many rocket launches that leave earth’s orbit right from our backyard.  Space lovers can also revel in all the history and mystery of space travel by visiting the Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex.

The Great Outdoors
From May to August, thousands of sea turtles make their migration to the shores of the Space Coast to give birth to the next generation of these endangered species.  Sea turtles aren’t alone in their proclivity for visiting the Space Coast, manatees abound throughout the waterways of the Space Coast.  In fact, the Space Coast is home to the world’s largest population of manatees.  Many of which live in the Indian River lagoon, America’s most diverse estuary. The lagoon draws boaters and fisherman to its waters who seek out the redfish, snook and tarpon who call this lagoon home.

Fun, Fun, Fun
Port Canaveral is the world’s second largest cruise port with vacation and casino cruise ships departing every week.  The “Port”, as it is known to the locals, is where you can catch deep sea fishing charters making way for the Atlantic.  There are plenty of dining and entertainment venues options for visitors and fisherman alike.
