Florida Techs Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program Reaccredited
MELBOURNE, FLA. — The Florida Institute of Technology School of Psychology is pleased to announce that its Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) Program in Clinical
Psychology has received reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation (CoA) of the American Psychological Association. This recent accreditation is
for a seven-year period, the maximum allowable.
The doctoral program emphasizes knowledge and skill needed to work with diverse clients in a multitude of settings. In addition to traditional training in
theory, psychological assessment and intervention skills, the curriculum also integrates the acquisition of critical thinking skills needed in the field.
The program admits about 20 students each year allowing faculty the ability to provide individual student attention and mentoring.
Accreditation by the CoA is a peer evaluative process that ensures the public, the field of professional psychology, prospective and current students, and
alumni that levels of excellence in training have been met. The Psy.D. Program at Florida Tech was first accredited in 1983. For more information about the
